In our capitalist society, rest is often seen as a waste of time that could have (or should have) been spent more “productively”. Without rest, individuals are unable to bring awareness to their own needs and the needs of society as a whole.

Rest

What is rest? Sleeping, napping, and dozing off don’t quite cover it, though they are a big part of it. Daydreaming, laughing with your people, creating art, and enjoying a good meal are all forms of rest you need in order to revive yourself each day. Incorporating mindfulness into your day to day life may bring you a deeper awareness of rest, revival, and joy. Rest is a basic need and a major component to taking care of and healing yourself.

Rise

When you feel fully rested, you are more able to rise. You will engage with life and work and people more and more fully. You may find yourself reaching out to connect with your community more and learning that your community needs you. This is how we create change for our world. Every time you connect and spread care, you are healing the world.
