Even when it’s challenging, it’s important to set boundaries and expectations up front. Look around to find everything you need to know. Policies are in place to protect the therapeutic relationship. Sessions
After your free 30 minute initial consultation, weekly 45 minute sessions are encouraged for several consecutive weeks in order to establish a working relationship and counseling goals. Moving to every other week sessions will be considered on a case by case basis depending on therapeutic needs and progress. Every other week availability is limited.
After the introductory sessions, clients may choose between 45 and 75 minute sessions. Availability for longer sessions may vary. 75 minutes may be recommended for clients seeking parenting skills counseling or EMDR.
Billing
Rest and Rise Counseling, PLLC only accepts private pay clients. We do not take insurance. Unfortunately, the healthcare system is not equitable to clients or providers. If you need to use insurance or need lower cost counseling, please click here to find a good fit.
Our EHR, SimplePractice, will automatically charge your credit card on file the night after our session. If for some reason your payment is not processed, I will contact you to update your billing information through the client portal before our next session. If your billing information is not updated 12 hours before our following session, your upcoming sessions will be canceled. Your file will be marked as inactive by the end of the month if your information is not updated.
You are always welcome to return to counseling, however an inactive status will forfeit your reserved appointment time and you may need to find another time to meet. In this case, please email me at sidrah@restrisetexas.com so we can figure it out.
Late Cancellation
If for any reason you need to cancel our session, you are welcome to do so with at least 24 hour notice at no charge. Within 24 hours of your session, please notify your counselor as soon as possible. If we are able to reschedule within the calendar week, you will not be charged a cancellation fee. However, if we are unable to reschedule within the week, you will be charged $75. Rescheduling is not a guarantee and is dependent on my availability.
If you are running late to your session, please email your counselor as soon as you know. Fifteen minutes into our session without login will be determined a “no show” and charged the late cancellation fee. Losing one third of our session time will affect the quality of the work we can do, so you may want to reschedule within the week. We will work with you to figure out what works best.
