Hi, I’m Sidrah Khan.

I use she/they pronouns. (Learn why pronouns are important.) I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I’ve been working with individual adults since 2018.

I became a counselor because of my love of psychology and my need for understanding myself. For the longest time, I did not have the resources or the language to define my identities and fulfill my needs for positive mental health.

Through an ever ongoing journey, I’ve learned that I identify as a neurodivergent, queer, South Asian immigrant who believes in human rights and taking responsibility to decolonize and create justice.

If our values may align, or you’re just curious to see how I can support you, contact me below and let’s setup a time to chat.

Read more about my approach to counseling below.

My Approach

My counseling approach starts with Carl Rogers (a cis-het White man), so believe me when I say, I’m still figuring out what parts of person-centered counseling theory fit into a decolonized counseling environment. My role is to provide a judgement free safe space where you can discover all parts of your that need healing. We will talk about your past and present as well as your hopes for the future. You will take the lead, and I will support you in finding patterns and brainstorming changes.

EMDR

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing changed the landscape of counseling. We can use this technique to reduce the intensity of somatic experiences and negative beliefs related to past traumatic experiences.

Extended sessions

Whether for talk therapy or EMDR, sometimes we need a bit more time than just the typical 45 minutes. If you know you’re a verbal processor or if you want to spend intensive time with EMDR, I provide sessions that last between 80 minutes to 3 hours or even full day intensives.
